EXTRA INFORMATION: Comstock is a tiny, unincorporated town. Comstock is 30 miles SE of Del Rio where housing is more readily available, but there are few options for living in Comstock itself, or in unincorporated areas still within the school district. The school district - Comstock ISD- is considered by many to be one of the best in the area, and takes transfer students from Del Rio.

There is one gas station, a motel and a post office in Comstock.  For anything else you would go to Del Rio.

Station type of work - Comstock has one checkpoint and lot of rugged terrain to patrol.

Shopping - In Del Rio - see Del Rio's page for list of shopping. Shopping is done in Del Rio, which is where most families live due to lack of housing available in the tiny town of Comstock

Eateries - One diner, otherwise you go to Del Rio - see Del Rio's page for list of eateries

Cellular Telephone - AT&T works best. Most other carriers have no service once past Del Rio.

Local Internet Providers - Big Bend Telephone offers DSL.

Other Services - Other Services - Any other information that you would like to add: Comstock ISD (K-12) is considered to be one of the best schools in the area. About 75% of the students transfer in from Del Rio, and there are often waiting lists for classes (www.comstockisd.net). There are a few properties available in the Comstock area, but many make the 30 mile commute from Del Rio, since that is where all the housing and services are.
