      EXTRA INFORMATION:

Station type of work - The border area "patrolled" by the CHU station has been extensively modified with construction of a steel fence, a secondary mesh backup fence, gravel or all-weather roads, and permanent or portable lighting.

So, the agents are assigned to park close to the fence and deter illegal entries into the U.S. No more rock and roll - chaos from the "Lines And Shadows" are days gone past. X's, transport duties if there are arrests made, processing duties.

There are duties, or detailed work assignments away from the border X's; (training, firearms, intelligence, ATV Unit, Sector Horse Patrol Unit, BORSTAR, REACT, BORTAC, prosecutions unit, or out-of-state details to AZ, WA, or MT right now) just put in your time.

You will work an eight hour shift, plus (at least) two hours of AUO. Expect to be drafted to write alot of admin cases on aliens arrested by other PAs. You'll need the practice, so take advantage of the opportunities when they arise.

You will have a five-day work week, in which you request days off two weeks in advance. Days off are awarded based upon seniority within your patrol group, so don't expect to get too many Fridays or Saturdays off your first few years. Split days off will only be an issue if you ask for them, or your Post-Academy training makes it necessary.

You are probably right. CHU allows PAs to bid for shifts every six months, with seniority being given the greatest weight. That said, you will be assigned to the shift of your choice if you have been passed over on the two prior rotations. After getting your six months in the sun, you will be back to swings or mids.
