EXTRA INFORMATION:
Station type of work - Checkpoint duty, traffic check operations, sign cutting through mountains and desert, driving to Yuma to help out on the line or doing Other Agency callouts (i.e.. transporting and processing IA loads that the sheriff's, PD, BLM, CHP, AZ DPS etc encounter). Our primary mission is to provide operational support for the line stations which mainly involves maintaining checkpoints in an attempt to arrest the aliens that make it past the front lines. Occasionally we do operations intercepting loads in the surrounding deserts or roving patrol various alien smuggling routes. While working these routes you get to catch quite a few felony criminals involved in gangs because we are between LA and Phoenix. We also do bus check.
Shopping - Albertson's, Big K-Mart, Radio Shack, Imperial Home Furnishings,
several small stores, few local groceries, nice theater, bowling alley
Eateries - Sizzler, Town Square, Denny's, several fast food restaurants, virtually all fast foods, even a Starbucks, several private businesses

Quality of Life: Small town, very little serious crime. Folks here are pretty friendly all in all. If you like the outdoors we have the river, deserts, hiking, and Glamis sand dunes are fairly close.
Blythe is 140 miles from Phoenix, 105 miles to Palm Springs, and 70 to Lake Havasu. You'll have to go out of town on occasion for some items. From May till September it will be over 100 degrees everyday, and there is a local community college.
