food stops. There aren't any fancy restaurants here. Most
people go across the border to Mexicali (15-20 min. drive).
Known for it's great food at cheap prices. One Italian

Other Services - Healthclubs: Jacques
& Jills is the largest and runs about $44 a month.
Curves is $40 p/month, and Ladies Fitness Express is another
new circuit program but also offers classes. They run
about $35-40 a month for a 1-2 yr. contract. There is
a Navy base here (NAF El Centro) where agents can get
on with their credentials. There is fabulous, brand new
gym there with personal tvs for cardio machines. Agents
and their family can pay $2 per visit, $20 a month, or
$200 a year. There is also an amazing pool there with
lap lanes and 2 real waterslides (one winding and one
steep). That is also $2 per visit. The base also features
a bowling alley, mini golf, and go carts.
Any other information that you would
like to add: There is brand new mall opening up in
March of 2005 which will feature a multiplex, Dillards,
Robinsons May, Sears, & JCPennys. There are 3 movie
theaters here- 2 multiplexs and 1 drive-in. This place
is growing right before my eyes. There are new housing
developments sprouting up all over Don't be surprised
if it takes awhile to find a job. Check out ivpressonline.com
and click under Classified, TOP JOBS, and you will see
what I mean. It is a known fact that unemployment is high
here. The choices also get smaller if you don't speak
Spanish. If you are still in school there is Imperial
Valley College and an SDSU satellite campus in Brawley
and Calexico offering 6 majors. There is also a brand
new University of Phoenix with each class lasting 5 weeks
but only meeting once a week. Each class is $1600.
