Shopping
 – Not a lot in Oroville.  Princes is a decent grocery/department store in Oroville.  Omak (40 miles south) has a Wal Mart and Home Depot.  Rawsons is a decent sporting goods store in Okanogan (45 miles south).  There is mall and Costco in Wenatchee (130 miles south).  In Penticton, BC (Canada, 45 miles north), there is a Wal Mart, Canadian Tire (kind of like a nicer Wal Mart), and mall.  In Kelowna, BC (75 miles north), there is pretty much everything.  Be advised Canadian taxes and prices can be higher, but good deals can be found in Canada.  There is pretty much everything in Spokane (180 miles east)

Home Town Pizza-Very Good pizza and sandwiches.  Good prices.
Trinos-Mediocre Mexican food, overpriced.
Hornets Nest-A burger stand right across the street from the station, OK, but a bit overpriced.
Yo Yos-A bar/restaurant. Tonasket: Rancho Chico-Good Mexican food, decent prices.

Cellular Telephone
 – ATT

Local Internet Providers
 – Qwest www.qwest.com
Gold Digger (an apple company that also provides internet) http://gdicom.net/
I’ve used both, and prefer qwest.  It’s much faster at the same price.

Any other information that you would like to add:

There are many opportunities for outdoor activities in Oroville and the area: fishing, hunting, camping, boating, horseback riding, off-road vehicles, skiing, etc.  There are some family/children activities available, but may require a little more travel or planning than in a larger city.  The Sonora Recreation Center in Osoyoos, BC has a lot of children’s activities.  Both Oroville and Tonasket have football, baseball, soccer, and wrestling for kids.
