Watching and waiting, that’s the name of this game,
We keep dancing to this tune trying not to go insane.

The NOR comes and brings good news,
Back to waiting again, to the tune of the blues.

Thinking ahead, he EOD’s and walks through that door,
My hands go cold, heart skips a beat and drops to the floor.

What will I do without for so long?
Walking into a restaurant alone, they’re playing our song.

I dig deep down inside to stop the panic,
I can’t stop it, I try but it’s frantic.

What will I do while he’s away?
How can I handle it when it comes our way?

Tears roll down my face as my heart silently cries,
I’ll embrace his dream as he soars and flies.

I will stand beside him and make it my dream,
Hold my head up high and understand what this means.

I will never be alone, he’s with me now,
He’ll be with me then, only different somehow.

I struggle now in embracing all this will bring,
But I will overcome my fear of this path to the “Green.”

Digging deep I will do what it takes,
Rising to the challenge, raising the stakes.

Huddled together, boldly we stand,
Facing these challenges hand in hand.

Trusting in him, faith for what will be,
Clouds roll back and the future together we’ll see.

He has his dreams, I have mine,
We have our dreams in his hour to shine.

He’s the best agent material I’ve ever seen,
I will continue pushing him to the “Green.”

We don’t give up, let go, or turn back,
We, the Significant Other are there to take up their slack.

We’re their driving force their strength every day,
Keeping them going in our own special ways.

Letters, care packages, phone calls and more,
Visits, messages of love, and waiting like never before.

Then will come his graduation day,
Head held high he’s able to say.

“I made it” and you’re together again,
Only more waiting …for the 7, then the 10!
